Italian Lasagna With Toasted Garlic Bread And Banana Pineapple Salad

This is an authentic Italian Lasagna recipe that makes a great main course. Just add toasted garlic bread, a tossed salad, banana pineapple salad, a bottle of red wine and you have an elegant, delicious meal that will leave your friends and family begging for it again and again.

1 lb ground beef

1/2 c chopped onion

1 6-oz can tomato paste

1 1/2 c water

1 garlic clove, minced

2 t salt

3/4 t oregano leaves

1/4 t pepper

8 oz lasagna noodles, cooked, drained

1 lb cottage cheese

2 6-oz pkgs mozzarella cheese slices

1/2 c grated parmesan cheese

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. In a large frying pan, brown ground meat; drain. Add onion; cook until tender. Stir in tomato paste, water and seasonings. Cover; simmer 30 minutes. In an 11 3/4 x 7 1/2-inch baking dish, layer half of the lasagna noodles, meat sauce, and mozzarella cheese slices; repeat layers. Sprinkle top with parmesan cheese. Bake at 375 degrees for 30 minutes. Let stand 10 minutes before serving. Makes 6 to 8 servings.

softened butter or margarine

garlic Powder
