Two dogs killed in trailer fire in Florence

AND I'M ROB QUIRK.

NEW TONIGHT AT SIX– A FIREFIGHTER HOSPITALIZED AND AT LEAST TWO TRAILER HOMES DAMAGED BY FIRE THIS AFTERNOON IN FLORENCE.

IN FREMONT COUNTY.

IT HAPPENED IN THE AREA OF EAST THIRD STREET AND FLORENCE AVENUE.

THAT'S WHERE WE'LL FIND NEWS FIVE'S LAURA WILSON.

YES, TWO FIREFIGHTERS SUFFERED HEAT EXHAUSTION TRYING TO EXTINGUISH THE FIRE INSIDE THIS MOBILE HOME.

AS WE MENTIONED.

ONE WAS TAKEN TO THE HOSPITAL, THE OTHER REFUSED MEDICAL CARE BUT WE'RE TOLD HE MAY END UP BEING TAKEN TO THE HOSPITAL ANYWAY CREWS RESPONDED JUST AFTER 2 PM.

AND THIS TRAILER HAS ALREADY BEEN ENGULFED IN FLAMES AND HAD SPREAD TO THE TRAILER NEXT DOOR.

SO HERE'S ATTACKED IT.

THEY MADE THIS TRAILER THEIR PRIORITY, AND PUT THE FIRE OUT FIRST, AND THEN MOVED OVER TO THIS ONE–IT TOOK THEM ABOUT 2 HOURS TO FULLY CONTAIN IT.

FORTUNATELY, THE OWNERS WEREN'T HOME AT THE TIME.

BUT 2 DOGS AND 2 CATS WERE FOUND DEAD INSIDE.

2 MORE CATS ARE MISSING WE'RE TOLD THE FIRE IS BELIEVED TO HAVE STARTED IN THE LIVING ROOM, BUT WE DON'T KNOW WHAT ACTUALLY SPARKED IT YET.

THIS TRAILER IS A TOTAL LOSS.

THE OTHER ONE IS SALVAGEABLE BUT ISN'T SAFE TO STAY IN RIGHT NOW.

RED CROSS HAS STEPPED IN TO ASSIST.

HERE'S A LIVE LOOK IN COLORADO.
